Labiaplasty
If excess labial skin causes irritation, discomfort, or self-consciousness, minimally invasive labiaplasty can restore comfort and the natural aesthetic of your vagina — with results that last for years.
Labiaplasty is a vaginal reconstructive procedure that removes excessive or uneven skin from the vagina. At Metroplex Women’s Health Care, Jeff Hantes, DO, specializes in two in-office labiaplasty procedures: Labiaplasty Minora, which reduces or removes excess tissue from the smaller, interior vaginal lips (labia minora), and Labiaplasty Majora, which addresses enlarged or uneven tissue in the larger, outer lips (labia majora).
During your procedure, Dr. Hantes uses a local anesthetic to keep you comfortable and pain-free. He uses advanced techniques to remove excess labial tissue without increasing your risk of noticeable scars. The procedure typically takes about an hour and is fully customized to your needs and desired results. After surgery, you can go home to rest. Most women limit activity for two to three days while tissues heal, and return to work and normal routines within three to seven days.
The final results are usually visible within 6 to 12 weeks once any swelling or bruising subsides. Many patients also choose to combine labiaplasty with other vaginal revitalization procedures, such as clitoral hood reduction, during the same visit.
