Vaginoplasty

Vaginoplasty is a revitalization procedure designed to tighten the vagina by removing excess vaginal lining and tightening the surrounding soft tissues and muscles. At Metroplex Women’s Health Care, Jeff Hantes, DO, performs vaginoplasty to revive vaginal health, increase sexual satisfaction, and restore confidence and self-esteem.

For many women, vaginal tissues become stretched and weakened during childbirth. Although the vagina often returns to a more normal size after delivery, it rarely returns to its pre-pregnancy form — and the effect can worsen with each subsequent delivery. Vaginoplasty is intended for women who are finished having children, ensuring lasting results.

The procedure is performed in-office under local anesthetic or conscious sedation for comfort. It typically lasts one to two hours, during which Dr. Hantes uses advanced techniques to restore muscle tightness and remove excess tissue in the vaginal canal. You spend a brief time in recovery before heading home to rest.

Pain, swelling, and bruising at the surgical site are normal for several days after surgery. Most women take one to two weeks off work to recover. Final results become visible as swelling and bruising fully subside — typically within about three months — and can last for many years depending on age, skin health, and other factors.
